Beyond the boardroom

The habits that sustain the work.

Training, teaching and time with communities are not credentials. They are how I stay curious, disciplined and grounded.

Endurance

Cycling, running and the long game.

I train for duathlon and endurance riding, and finished POWERMAN 2026 this year. I do it for the same reason I value structure at work: steady preparation beats last-minute heroics. The goal is not to do more. It is to become stronger in body, mind and spirit.

On weekends I also play tennis, which is mostly a lesson in humility.

The classroom keeps me honest.

Teaching corporate governance and boardroom dynamics to MBA students forces me to explain why things work, not just that they do. Students bring sharp questions from their own organisations, and I leave most sessions having learned something.

As Chairman of the UKM-GSB Alumni Leadership & Fellowship Association, I help build a network where graduates keep learning from one another long after they finish.

Capability that outlasts a programme.

I spend time with youth groups, SMEs and agricultural communities, helping them adopt new tools and build the confidence to keep going. The aim is always independence: systems and knowledge that keep working after a programme ends.

Recent examples include urban green initiatives with KPJ Kajang and international training in sustainable agriculture through MTCP 2026.
